The Effects of Music Activity on Resilience and Psychological Well-Being of Pastor's Wives

Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of Music Activity for Pastor's Wives on their Resilience and Psychological Well-Being. The subjects were 30 pastor's wives who belong to K presbytery. The groups were divided into the two : the experimental group and the control group, which was composed of 15 in the experimental group and 15 were control group. The experimental group participated in 6 music activity sessions that consisted of 60 minutes per session. This study measured the level of resilience and psychological well-being with the Korean Resilience Quotient-53( KRQ-53) and the Psychological Well-Being Scale(PWBS). Both the treatment group and the control group were assessed before and after the experiment. The results were as follows: First, the differences in resilience score between the experimental group and the control group were statistically significant. Secondly, the differences in psychological well-being scores between the experimental group and the control group were not statistically significant but the mean score increased. These findings suggest that Music Activity have positive impacts on the pastor's wives¡¯ resilience and psychological well-being.
